Located within the Indianapolis Motor Speedway complex, this project involved construction of a 112-foot stealth communications tower designed to resemble a scoreboard and blend into the surrounding environment. Unlike a traditional monopole or lattice structure, the tower featured a four-legged design with enclosed wall systems, requiring close coordination between crane operators and tower crews during erection.
Because of the project’s visibility and proximity to public areas, safety and site management were critical throughout construction. JDH worked closely with the client and local officials to coordinate excavation protection, trench safety, and overall site security during all phases of the build. Additional site improvements included installation of a vinyl horizontal plank fence system and landscaping designed to match the aesthetics of the Speedway complex.
The project was completed with minimal issues and without impacting activities at one of the most recognizable motorsports venues in the country. Through detailed planning and coordination, JDH delivered a finished product that met both the operational needs of the client and the visual expectations of the surrounding community.
